Prenatal massage: what to know before you book
Important guidelines and comfort details for expecting mothers considering a prenatal massage at our spas.
Pregnancy brings unique physical changes, and taking time for relaxation requires careful attention to health and positioning. Knowing what to expect helps ensure a comfortable and supportive visit.
Prenatal massage is offered from the second trimester, using a side-lying position with supportive pillows, following a consultation first. Hannah Osei completed prenatal massage training.
Timing and when to book
Prenatal massages at Lantern Day Spa are available from the second trimester, specifically after fourteen weeks of pregnancy. Please let the front desk know when booking your appointment.
If you have any questions or unique health considerations during your pregnancy, consult your doctor before scheduling your visit.
Positioning with supportive pillows
During your session, you are positioned on your side. Specialized supportive pillows are used to cushion your head and belly and go between your knees to ensure comfort.
Your provider checks in with you throughout the session regarding pressure and positioning to keep you at ease.
Treatments to avoid during pregnancy
Certain spa treatments are not suitable during pregnancy. Hot stone massages, body wraps, and the steam room at our Las Vegas spa are not offered to expecting guests.
Always inform the front desk and your provider about your pregnancy so they can guide you toward suitable services.
